What we do.

Resolving Disputes

Gells Lawyers had its origins in 1965 and has developed into one of Sydney's most established boutique-style commercial litigation practices. We are always looking for ways to refresh and stay relevant. We have a strong commitment and reputation in the delivery of high quality legal services in the area of commercial litigation. This is evident not only in our impressive client base but also reflective within the longevity of the relationships that we have been able to build with those clients over many years of trust. We take the time to understand our clients, their needs and objectives - and this leads to a trusted partnership between us that is not often found in business relationships today. We keep abreast of both developments in the law and advances in information technology so that we are able to deliver legal outcomes to our clients in the context of a positive legal experience.

Our Commitment

Our commitment to our clients is to provide the high quality service within the commercial environment of our instructions. We understand that clients want the deal done and we will ensure the transaction is facilitated and not hindered while at the same time fully protecting our client’s interests.

Commercial decisions often have taxation and other legal implications and we have the expertise and skills to identify and properly deal with and advise on relevant taxation and legal considerations associated with your business decision or transaction.

We provide objective and sensible advice with practical solutions tailored to each client's individual needs.

Real People

Gells is a quality firm having its core practice in Business law, Taxation & Superannuation, Company Law as well as traditional areas of Property, & Family Law.

At Gells we pride ourselves in maintaining a traditional solicitor/client relationship built on trust, confidentiality and mutual respect. This relationship extends beyond the mere provision of legal services.

We have a depth of experience to serve a wide spectrum of clients and issues and are intimate enough so that you as our client will receive individual and personal attention. You will feel important to us.

We get it.

“We have meetings to discuss the latest developments on the law of special damages. You won’t get invited to those meetings.”

Our Value

“You get what you pay for (and nothing else).”

Most law firms work like pyramid schemes. Senior lawyers make money by leveraging the work of junior lawyers, who in turn leverage the work of support staff . You pay to support the whole pyramid whether they like it or not. We don’t work like that. We don’t believe that you should pay to fund a law school so we don’t hire an army of junior lawyers to ‘cut their teeth’ on your matters. We just hire the best.

Your matters will normally be handled by a single lawyer who is across all the issues and will deal with you directly. Our lawyers don’t delegate - they just get it done. Without a ‘pyramid’ to support we just don’t over-service our clients. Our fee arrangements emphasize adding value to your business rather than charging you for every little thing. You get what you pay for (and nothing else).
